Moteam SAI have developed and patented a revolutionary four finger lifting mechanism for lifting Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Substrates and the insertion of O-Rings
MODEX’s unique design allows 25 small objects with apertures to be stacked and moved during manufacturing. The cassette holds the HDD substrates to allow the contents to be picked and placed for each process whilst also dramatically reducing the potential for damage.
The Internal O-Ring inserter has an adjustable cylindrical centre for a variety of O-Ring sizes and four evenly spaced semicircular groves, with each groove having an independent finger. The cylindrical centre is inserted into the O-Ring, whilst the fingers close over the outside of the O-Ring, contracting into the groves of the centre, so that it will fit into the opening of the joint. The MODEX then positions itself by the joint, where the fingers retract along the central shaft releasing the O-Ring into the joint. The centre of the MODEX is then withdrawn leaving the seal in place.
